The Muppets

I went to see the Muppet Movie last night.  It was really good.  Seeing that reminds me of how cool it was to grow up in the 1970s and 1980s.  Television shows, toys and clothes were just freaking weird.  People my age know exactly what is up when you hear the unmistakable sounds of a bionic jump or a Wonder Woman transformation.  You know how to position your hand when someone says, “Nano Nano.”  You know you had a Stretch Armstrong doll and you knew the proper pull on your Big Wheel's break could result in an impressive Evel Knievel style spin.  Nothing seemed odd about wearing six Swatch Watches, parachute pants and super white dance shoes to church.  You can remember things that happened before Star Wars.  You remember Pong, rotary phones and a time before we had cell phones, but you also can play a game on a PS3, Skype and are never without your iPhone or Droid.  You think immediately of Carol Burnett when you hear a Tarzan yell.  And, of course, you know all the words to this song.
