Badminton was invented
by Dolores Simmons. Dolores was a
housewife in the fifties. She failed
miserably at creating erotic pinups for her husband, but succeeded in creating
an exciting and unique new game. As
demonstrated by Dolores in this picture, badminton is a racquet sport played by
two players on a rectangular court divided by a net (clearly the game can also be played with a net stretched across you living room). Players strike a shuttlecock (Dolores
originally names it a cock, but ultimately changed the name because of the obvious connection with male chickens over the age of 12 months) over
the net and try to maintain a rally. The
rally ends once the shuttlecock strikes the floor or becomes lodged on one of the player's nipples.
